Highway closure to impact north side drivers

SAN ANTONIO -- Closures on US 281 and Loop 1604 were expected to impact drivers this weekend.

Below is a list of closures provided to News 4 WOAI by the Alamo RMA:

US 281 roadway closures

US 281 Northbound mainlanes at Loop 1604 will be closed Friday, June 15 at 10 p.m. and reopen Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 10 p.m. Expect Delays.

Detour for traffic traveling US 281 north will exit Loop 1604 and  use the Sonterra entrance. This work is to complete the forming and place concrete for the direct connector.

New - US 281 Southbound frontage lanes (in front of Bill Millers) will be closed Saturday, June 16, 2012 from
1 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Traffic traveling US 281 southbound frontage lanes will be detoured at the US 281/Loop 1604 intersection to turn right to Loop 1604 westbound frontage or left to Loop 1604 eastbound frontage lanes.

New - US 281 Northbound frontage lanes at Loop 1604 will be closed Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 10 p.m. - 5 a.m.

Detour for frontage lanes will be US 281 NB Henderson Pass entrance ramp, exit Sonterra and take the Sonterra turn around. This work is to remove forms from the direct connectors.

US 281 Southbound mainlanes at Loop 1604 will be closed Sunday, June 17, 2012 from 6p.m. - 5 a.m.

Detour for traffic traveling US 281 south will exit Sonterra and use the Donella entrance ramp. This work is to remove forms from the direct connectors. 

As work is completed, lanes will reopen to traffic.

Loop 1604 roadway closures 

New - Loop 1604 Eastbound frontage lanes between Stone Oak entrance ramp and US 281 will be closed Friday, June 15, 2012 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. each night. This closure will include the US 281 Southbound right frontage lane.

Detours: Traffic traveling Loop 1604 eastbound will be detoured to Loop 1604 entrance ramp (east of Stone Oak) and exit Gold Canyon.
