They need to start ticketing the heck out of the dangerous drivers; that will force a good many of them out of the position leaving the good drivers to do their job.

@HollyHoly, please give 442SNOWMAN a break. He said he's "a hunt and pecker" and even tried to repost with spaces to make it easier to read, but without luck. Not all truck drivers are bad drivers, and what 442 was saying is really on point. There are both good and bad truck drivers, but even the good can't always avoid accidents. They have to deal with a whole lot of really stupid car drivers that don't seem to understand the power of an 18 wheeler, or the fact they don't maneuver or stop as quickly as other vehicles, especially those small economy cars. I'll bet that most truck drivers would be ecstatic to have their own highways to drive without all the smaller "pests". Actually, me in my pickup could do without a big number of them, too. Can't see them in my rear view mirror or side mirrors when they're sitting on my bumper. But, if I have to stop suddenly for something they couldn't see coming because they were riding on my butt, they'll be the most damaged. They're especially bad when driving at night and not considering having to dodge deer. Can't slam on the brakes if you've got an idiot riding your skirt. Hit the deer, damage your own vehicle and possibly involve the idiot, too. Slam on your brakes to avoid the deer, the skirt rider hits you. The bar ditch isn't always available or inviting as an alternative. And, quite often, if you pull over and slow down wanting them to pass on by, they won't because they're using my bigger vehicle as protection. Fine........but back off a couple of car lengths.....BIG car lengths!!!!

@442SNOWMAN: Just take you computer off all caps and only capitalize the first letters of the words that should be (if you want). Capitalizing an entire word for STRONG emphasis is fine. Capitalizing a longer string of words, a sentence, or an entire quote pretty much means screaming it, which is acceptable if that's what you want to convey. Otherwise, trying to read comments in all caps, especially long ones is extremely difficult!!! Thank you for you post, tho, and insight. I'm a little lady that drives a bit pickup, and even I have a great deal of trouble with those little car drivers that don't understand you can't see them sitting on your bumper, don't understand blindspots (even in their own vehicles), and have no idea what it takes to drive a big rig, nor do most of them care. Like knowing the rig turning into your lane at a red light needs that extra space to make the turn, so stop a bit back from the "stop line" to allow for that. But, that takes knowledge and consideration, which are lacking in today's society. There's so much more that I do know that so many don't, and don't want to know. Anyway, thanks for your post, and I do know how correct you are, and take care of yourself out there.
