SCHERTZ, Texas -- An 18-wheeler accident tied up traffic on Interstate 35 early Friday.
The driver of the 18-wheeler said he was traveling south on Interstate 35 when his truck had a blowout near FM 3009. The big rig then hit a barrier and burst into flames. The frozen pork in the truck's trailer spilled onto the highway.
Schertz firefighters put out fire within minutes, and the driver wasn't seriously hurt.
Traffic had to be redirected onto the access road while crews worked to clear the wreckage as well as the meat that spilled.
Officials reopened all of the southbound lanes around 9:45 a.m. Friday.
