SAN ANTONIO - Firefighters were called to the Tower of the Americas early Friday morning to rescue some maintenance workers who were trapped in an elevator.

We're told a cable on the elevator broke, leaving workers stranded in the elevator.

Firefighters were able to get them out.

No one was hurt.

Every now and then the elevator breaks down. There is an adjacent stairwell, so that the FD can get people out.

What kind of ghetto organization is running the Tower??? A maid was killed in a hotel elevator crash a while ago and now this? What a nightmare for those workers.
