SAN ANTONIO --CPS Energy crews will be back out on the Northwest Side to repair a electrical tower that collapsed Tuesday afternoon.
The tower collapsed around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday near Loop 410 and Bandera Road and fell partially onto the street, smashing onto some cars.
"I couldn't see anything," said Marcus Andrews, whose car was damaged. "All I could do is hear the clanging coming onto the vehicle. I saw the windshield start to shatter. I was swerving to make sure I wasn't going to crash off the bridge."
CPS Energy says the accident happened as crews were stringing out transmission lines. Power was knocked out to about 6,000 customers, but power has been restored as of late Tuesday night.
No injuries were reported.
