SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Police are searching for a driver who reportedly fired shots at two women in another car during an apparent road rage incident in Southeast Bexar County Friday morning.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office were called to the 20,200 block of Interstate 37 South around 10:45 a.m. Friday. A woman told deputies she and her sister were headed from Austin to the Valley. She said they were merging into a lane when another vehicle pulled up behind them. The woman said she was driving the speed limit, but the man driving the other vehicle was speeding. She told deputies the man showed them a gun, pulled his car up next to theirs, and fired a couple of shots into the air.

The woman said as she sped away, the man fired another couple of shots at them. None of the shots hit the car.

@txsat - You are 110% right on! The fact that this girl had to say "I as doing the speed limit" is code for, "I was in the fast lane and did not want to move my ARSS out of the way" I was too busy talking on he phone, texting, or yacking it up with my sister to move out of the way"... I drive that that stretch of road frequently.. People absoltuley refuse to move from the PASSING LANE.. I guarantee you that if Police start enforcing this law, there would be a lot less of this. And for the idiot driver who pulled a gun.. This isn't the wild west anymore... Chill out!

I truly believe driving situations happen to everyone whether we are in the right or in the wrong. That is where HUMAN BEINGS need to consider - crap happens!!!! I've messed up and have done things incorrectly on the road, and I have been the victim of someone else that is not driving correctly. The sense of entitlement kills me. Yes, it is totally frustrating to be cut off, tailgated, swerved into, but give me a freakin break - everyone has done that!!! That absolutely does not give anyone the right to pull a gun on another driver. Who do these people think they are?!!! I have gotten extremely upset with stupid drivers, but come on. Just get where you need to go safely and get over it!!!!

I resent drivers that rush up on your back bumper and ride it until they can whip around you, then whip back in front of you much too close for comfort, only to slow down, even if not preparing to turn. IDIOTS!!!! And, the numbers of drivers I'm seeing texting while driving is getting really scary!

I can sympathize. Normal people look at traffic as they are entering a highway to judge the gap between the car in front of them and the one behind. They then pace themselves against the car in front. The problem occurs when the guy in back either speeds up, or doesn't slow down when the guy in front does, pinching off the guy who's in the process of getting on the highway. In Texas no one "has" the right of way unless someone "yields" it to you. A driver can be cited for failing to yield. While he may be found liable in that case, a driver on the highway who fails to take evasive action may be found more liable, especially if he saw the other driver and sped up, thereby causing the accident. Any party found more than 50% liable in an accident can be sued for damages by the other party. Just food for thought.

Anyway, I was going to originally ask, where is the Valley? Haven't heard of that around here.

Tenacious, that's a load of garbage. I've never lived in California but having lived in different countries and different states, this kind of thing happens in all large cities worldwide and has for centuries. San Antonio will have more inner city crimes when there's more people. Don't just blame one group of people, that's how Hitler and the KKK do things. It's just human nature to have a few bad apples.

These girls were very lucky they didn't get hurt. These road rage drivers need some one to shoot them then they will stop the shooting.

Quit trying to make speeders your problem.... move out of the way or these nutjobs will continue to run you off the roadway or worst shoot at you. Many times your own self appointance as a protector and enforcer of speeding gets you or other innocent road users hurt. Let it go move over. Finally for all the fine drivers of our "top 20 worst driver city in america" know the law..... The far left lane of any highway is NOT the FAST LANE. Its called a PASSING LANE. This is not intended as a main lane of travel its intended as an open lane to allow vehicles to pass safely. DPS and Other agencies have begun and will continue to cite violators for the traffic infraction. Its called "SLOWER TRAFFIC FAIL TO KEEP RIGHT" And "IMPEDING TRAFFIC". Transguide posted signs for a whole month on their billboards warning roadusers, and bow sigbs are going up mostly on IH-10 heading towards 1604.
