ROUND ROCK, Texas - Dell learns some Texas laws do not cross state lines. The Round Rock-based computer company tried to bar customers alleging defects in its Inspiron notebook computer from filing a class action lawsuit. The provision is part of Dell’s sales agreement.
However, the lawsuit was filed in California, and a San Francisco judge ruled the terms of the agreement were unfair under California law.
Dell says it does not comment on pending legal matters.
