SAN ANTONIO -- Many people may want to deep fry their turkey this year. If you're one of them, firefighters have some tips to keep you and your family safe.
- Thaw the turkey
- Keep the oil below 350 degrees
- Don't overfill the oil. If you have too much oil in the fryer, when you add the turkey, it may cause oil to drip down the sides. That can start a fire.
Firefighters also say do not use water to try and put out a grease fire.
