Deadly head-on collision near Airport

SAN ANTONIO -- One person was killed in a head-on collision near the Airport.

Police said a pickup truck slammed head-on into a Fed Ex truck along Wetmore Road around 3:00 a.m. Monday.

The driver of the Fed Ex truck said he was headed south on Wetmore when a red Toyota pickup traveling north veered into his lane.

The woman driving the Toyota, 27-year-old Rita Lopez, was killed.

Police believe she may have have fallen asleep at the wheel.

Man... If I were a betting man I'd wager she was dead drunk (3AM). I'm hping not but knowing the typical body count in Soused Antonio, it wouldn't suprise me a bit. But on the bright side, at least two other, good samaritans, didn't go with her, like the broad on I-35 ths morning. (prayer for the lost)

Another terrible accident this morning. They still had the road blocked off even at 620am when I was going to work this morning.
