SAN ANTONIO- A San Antonio couple who loved riding their Harley died while on their motorcycle. Thirty-four year old Raul Guerrero and his wife, 37-year old Rebecca Aranda Guerrero died Saturday night after colliding with a pick up truck in New Braunfels.

Police said they crossed into on coming traffic and collided with a Dodge pick up truck. Neither was wearing a helmet. The accident happened shortly before seven around the same time their 16-year old son was trying to contact them.

“I called her like at 6:20, she didn't answer, she text me saying you called, and I text her where's the key, she didn't text me back,” explained the couple’s son, Justin Aranda.

That was the last time Justin had any communication with his mom who was better known as Becky.

A rosary is scheduled for Raul and Becky next Sunday at Castillo Funeral Home. The couple will be buried at Fort Sam Houston next Monday since Raul Guerrero served his country proud as a sergeant in the Army. He was a veteran of the Iraq War.

@ choppersdigest Sir I ride a motorcycle.. IT IS irresponsible to ride with out a helmet even more so that they had children .Its not a fashion show out there in traffic. people in there four wheel box's don't care about smaller vehicals and big trucks cant stop on a dime .

Not that it would have helped, but I can't understand how in a 6 thousand pound vehicle, I have to wear a seat belt, but anyone on a motorcycle can ride without a helmet.

There also needs to be clearer clarification to this story. The truck was a HEAVY DUTY 3500(?) Dodge that was hauling a trailer. The helmet would have done absolutely nothing to prevent this. I am against riding or driving without one. But sadly, my friends are gone not because of the helmet being absent, but due to the force of the impact.

I got news for you helmet people: in a head on collision with a truck, that helmet is going to be as useful as a tissue paper parachute. I wonder if the reason they veered into traffic was because the woman was trying to send texts from the back of the bike?

Two human beings lost their lives and yet people still feel the need to criticize and judge? I thought it was human nature to have compassion, but obviously some of you are lacking. You have a right to speak your mind and say whats in your cold heart, but using a public outlet where the family's can read this really show your shortcomings. Unless it was you on that bike you don't know exactly what happen so stop trying to analyze the situation like you do know. Raul had compassion for people, always optimistic and something positive to say to uplift you. I really wish we had more people like him in this world, then we wouldn't have such unnecessary sarcasm and ill-hearted comments. So heres some facts, we've lost someone who meant the world to my family, my cousin raul. We love him so very much and will miss him terribly. He is resting with the love of his life and i'm so blessed to have had him as part of my family. RIP Raul and Becky we all love and miss you! Llana L medel

Helmets are so necessary and lifesaving. Since we require seatbelts, helmets should be mandatory also....even for adults.
