Couple beaten under downtown bridge

A man and woman are recovering after they were beaten with an iron rod downtown early Wednesday, police said. It happened at the overpass of IH-10 and Martin around 1:30 a.m.

Seems To me these under bridge parking area are a danger to any one wondering through them late at night.

"Beaten" implies more than one blow. If each victim did receive only one blow each, the more proper term to describe the attack would be "assaulted". Need more info because what little is reported here leaves many questions.
