Mr Medina, driving without a license is against the LAW....A$$WHOLE! Your daughter did not know the road rules concerning emergency vehicles. You learn that in driving school.

Wait... I'm confused... who was this all about? David Medina, or his father???

I don't go to the meetings, but it would be entertaining for someone to ask David how he feels about the arrest while in a public forum. Can you say "no comment?"

CONTINUATION OF EARLIER COMMENT We’re all required to wear seat belts, too. Suppose two friends decide to go to lunch. The driver has a duty to ensure that everyone in his vehicle is wearing a seatbelt, but his friend decided not to. When the driver gets stopped for his passenger not wearing a seatbelt, the passenger should be ticketed for failing to wear his seatbelt and the driver should be ticketed for allowing a passenger to ride unrestrained. While I am sure the article does not present ALL the facts, what IS presented clearly establishes that the police were REQUIRED to take enforcement action as a direct and foreseeable consequence of the criminal conduct of both mom and daughter. That being the case, how was the article “shoddily presented”, citygames?

I would like to draw attention to the comment made by "citygames". I would draw attention to Texas Transportation Code, Chapter 521, Section 458. It reads: PERMITTING UNAUTHORIZED PERSON TO DRIVE. (a) A person may not knowingly permit or cause the person's child or ward who is under 18 years of age to operate a motor vehicle on a highway in violation of this chapter. (b) A person may not authorize or knowingly permit a motor vehicle owned by or under the control of the person to be operated on a highway by any person in violation of this chapter. In layman's language, NO ONE can give an UNLICENSED driver permission to operate ANY motor vehicle. Age is not a factor and neither is existence of a family relationship. To put it simply, no one can give you "permission" to break the law. According to the news story, the daughter failed to reduce speed or move over when she approached an emergency vehicle, which is illegal. Cops get killed this way, so the law requires drivers to slow down to 20 MPH under the posted speed-limit, or move to the next lane. The daughter failed to reduce speed or move over and was stopped for that violation. After making contact, the officer discovered that the daughter had no ID (another violation). Mom was summoned to the scene and the investigation showed that mom allowed the daughter to drive the family car. Mom cannot do that; ever. No one can. The daughter should get a ticket for “Passing Authorized Emergency Vehicle”, “No Driver License” and any other violations. Since mom allowed the daughter to illegally drive a car that the daughter was not licensed to operate, mom broke the law and correspondingly deserves a ticket for that. CONTINUED ON NEXT COMMENT

Sorry folks the law states no Drivers license no Insurance (with her listed as a driver) means the car gets impounded and she gets a ride to jail or Juvenile detention if in fact she is a minor. The officer was actually doing her a favor by allowing her to be released in to her parents custody all she had to do was sign the ticket which is not an admission of guilt only an agreement to show up in court and princess could have gone home but no they want to have an attitude about it so guess what she goes to jail and daddy goes to jail for obstruction and probably resisting arrest and or assaulting a police officer and not sure if the little light bulb went off and mom had enough sense to stay out of it when the the ding bat could've signed the ticket and avoided the whole mess... P.S. I'm sure your son is really thrilled that you managed to drag him in to all of this.

Councilman Medina; here's some friendly advice for you and family. If you and family want privacy, don't create attention in public; don't turn a private matter into a circus; don't fight with SAPD out in the open. Lastly, tell your family to stop behaving and acting like they own the city and they can pull strings. Question: Have you turned against SAPD over this incident?

First of all, I believe it is only fair to advise those who are complaining about the lack of journalistic procedures shown in this article that this is a television web site. No such journalistic standards may be correctly applied in this case. Also, I agree that these people are the Devil's people and are involved with much more criminal activity than is suggested here. They live in the heart of his territory. They are involved with Democrats and probably other thieves as well. Most homosexuals, other perverts, union members and those who choose not to work are Democrats and thus the constituancy of the politician involved in this scandal. As long as the civilized and Christian members of the citizenry allow these wretches to multiply and reside here among us, we have to expect this type of behavior. If a group of the righteous was to begin to take these people away, we would begin to see less of this type of attrocity and once we get rid of the bulk of them, the rest will likely quiet down. That would further the work of the Lord and make this a more Christian city, better able to withstand the tribulations to come.

Is the daughter a minor? If she is not then the mother and father have every right to every drop of outrage they exhibited after the officer attempted to cite the mother. If she is a minor, then that's a bit different. This article is sadly lacking in facts and is shoddily presented. Can we get a real journalist in here to do it up properly, please?
