BALCONES HEIGHTS, Texas - The Balcones Heights police department is hoping someone recognizes a woman caught on a business surveillance camera.
The video was taken Thursday around 3 pm at the Express Lube off the corner of Babcock and Hillcrest. The video shows an unidentified woman taking a donation box that was sitting on top of the store counter.
Express Lube teamed up with the Alamo Area Mutual Housing Association earlier this month to help raise funds for homeless veterans and their families.
Donation boxes are set up at all 25 Express Lube locations throughout Bexar County.
The money raised will help provide homeless veterans with beds.
"People are providing donations for individuals that made a sacrifice to serve our country, and for somebody to take those donations, I'm just not sure how they can justify that," said Bo Durkop with Express Lube.
Durkop told News 4 WOAI the woman made off with about $100.
"Ultimately we would love for that individual to obviously return that donation box," added Durkop.
Despite the incident the donation campaign will continue through the end of November at all area Express Lube locations.
Express Lube is donating $500 to the Alamo Area Mutual Housing Association.
