SAN ANTONIO -- A 7-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was hit by a truck on the West Side Wednesday morning.

Police said the boy was with three other children and an adult who were crossing the street at Old Highway 90 and SW 40th Street shortly after 7:00 a.m. For some reason the boy stopped in the middle of the intersection and was then hit by a GMC Truck.

He was taken to University Hospital with what were described as life-threatening injuries.

The 73-year-old man who was driving the truck stopped. Police are still investigating the accident but do not expect any charges to be filed against him.

My nephew is still doing bad he started to breath a little on his own and now stopped breathing again. Oband it was 5 people 3kids and two adult. We are all hopping and praying that he makes it put safe and comes back the us. That is all we r asking for at this time

Look that's my nephew and my sister was watching him. He was going to get his brother and their was no car and the guy seen the 7year boy and hit him head on. And he keep going after going after hitting him. He my not make it so please do not say anything bad about my sister. My whole family is going crazy and just praying that Robert makes it.

So no one knows why the boy stopped in the middle of the road!! Why was the adult not keeping a better watch for him. Hope he will get well.
