Black Friday is a moral sacrilege to our founding history as Americans. Every year, human lives are claimed by a feverish frenzy of glutinous greed as shoppers are driven to the brink of insanity by the eccentricities of this circus. Shopping should never be a sport nevertheless the most dangerous one. No life is worth a gaming console, computer or any electronic device. Santa should be known as the one that brings the gifts to us one time each year. It would be easier if your child actually sees Jesus in order to tell the difference in a picture comparison. Santa can be seen in the stores, walking around, in Christmas parades, and on television so there is always the chance to see and understand Santa. Children may not be able to see Jesus doing these same things. They should realize that everything is a gift from Santa.

Christmas is about gifts, parties, eating and family time together. I don't necessary think it's about Jesus birth. That's an old folklore story that's been told by our grandparents a long time ago around camp fires. Science and evidence has proven that no such story ever occurred. Christmas is a time to make marshmallow smores and tell Santa Clause and Rudolph the Red nose reindeer stories. It's the season were companies go from red to black. So, go out there and spend money and help the economy.

LindaB needs to get a grip. Christmas hasn't been about the birth of Christ for about 25 or 30 years. I do miss the Blue laws (although I'm not sure they applied on Thanksgiving.) Hats off to those retailers that don't open until Friday morning, albeit earlier than normal. As for striking, I think that this country is still free enough that if people want to organize and strike, more power to them...just don't come whining to the rest of us when you get fired! Thankfully, I'm not a Walmart shopper. My Christmas shopping is done at www.amazon.com.

Ok LindaB, we got the idea. You don't need to repeat it six different ways. As far as a walkout, I think there is more to it than having to work on Thanksgiving Day.

A retail employee complaining about working during the busiest retail time is like a cook complaining about daily the lunch rush.
