SAN ANTONIO -- A wrong way accident early Saturday sends a Bexar County Correctional Officer to jail and another man to the hospital with injuries.  S.A.P.D. officials say the officer, who has been identified as 31 year old Trenton Wade, was spotted driving a Chevy Malibu the wrong way at 1604 and N.W. Military Highway just before the accident occurred at 1604 and Redland Rd. Police say Wade was driving east bound in the west bound lanes of 1604 when he struck a Ford Ranger causing it flip multiple times. The man in the Ranger was taken to University Hospital with minor injuries. Bexar County officials are investigating the matter.

ok so correctional officer as in not SAPD. Come on let's not lead people to assume this guy worked in the SAPD. I mean do you lead your stories as in the person WHO WORKED AT JALISCO or the person WHO WAS JOBLESS but living in section 8 housing!! The only thing that gets me is usually these people are suspended WITH PAY pending an investigation. Must be nice.

Another drunk in Sad Antonio. Are we surprised it was a govt. employee? Talk about one lucky SOB that gets hit by a wrong way driver and isn't seriuosly injured or dead?!? I'm not going to get too religious as some of our other bloggers do, but God must have plans for this person. You are living your life right when you can walk away from this.

Too funny, the first wrong way driver for Fiesta is an officer. Only in San Antonio.

There is no mention of Mandatory Blood Draw or Arrest. Are Law Officers Exempt?

I think ex-officer Wade was actually working under cover to see if the wrong way markers and signs were ready for Fiesta! Apparently NOT! Come on TX-DOT do your job! Viva la Fiesta!
