SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio Water Systems crews are working to clean up an estimated 63,000 gallons of sewage that spilled on the Northeast Side.
SAWS officials said the spill occurred west of Weidner Road under Wurzbach Parkway. A spokesperson for SAWS said the spill was caused by debris, rags, and grease. Crews worked overnight to clear the sewer line, which is now flowing again. They are now vacuuming the spill and disinfecting the area.
SAWS is cautioning people to be careful about what they flush down toilets or pour down drains.
