I was driving by going west and because traffic was pretty much at a stop I could see what was going on. It was a very serious accident. The fire fighters were working diligently to try and get someone out of the completely crushed car. I'm guessing this was the trapped guy in the truck. It was tragic and I prayed as soon as I passed by given how much damage I could see to that vehicle. To susanlm, I think it is quite callous and cold hearted to make such a poor observation when you didn't even know the seriousness of the accident. What if this was your loved one trapped in that vehicle? What if this was you? The police have to set up an appropriate distance from a major accident such as this one to prevent further accidents from occurring and harm to the fire fighters, paramedics and police who are working to save a life. Regardless of where they set the blockade it still would have caused traffic. Your lost hours at work are much less important than saving a life.

You shouldve seen all the idiots on 151, doing u turns to get off the highway from the on ramps. Some fool in a black charger did so causing a truck entering the highway to come to a screeching halt. I kind of wished for that wreck to happen to teach that dude a lesson

susanlm74 must have been one of the few people I saw driving on the inside shoulder trying to get ahead of the line. It was obvious that there was an accident. I was over an hour late to work too but it's not that big of a deal. Someone could have died! I hope they all pull through and make a full recovery. Accidents happen. That isn't the time for all the a**holes to come out of the woodwork and cry and complain that traffic gets backed up. Just be thankful you aren't at the front of that line fighting for your life!

I was there. The injuries were severe and Thank God more people werent hurt. The entire highway was blocked because there were 4 crashed vehicles spread ALL the way across the highway. The traffic has to be stopped far enough back so that more people are not hurt.Have you ever seen a multicar pile-up, like 20 cars or so? well, If they had not stopped the traffic you would have... You should have seen the crazy people before the cops got there to stop traffic they were almost hitting the truck that the man was pinned in... Horrible, inconsiderate! Everyone is self absorbed and they don't care about their fellow human being. I have not been able to get that poor man out of my head all day. I hope and pray that he makes it and makes a full recovery. The Fire Department Personnel were great. They were kind and professional and worked hard to free that man. They were smart enough to come from the other direction and jump the barrier to get to him ...there was no way they would have ever made it if they tried to come from the same side as the accident. Be safe everyone. Drive defensively, watch out for those crazy wreckless drivers. Yes we all need our jobs and our money because $$ makes the world go around, but mostly we need each other... say I love you even when you are angry or upset before you leave for work... you may not have another chance to tell your loved ones how much you care.

I guarantee you this: At least 1 of these dufuses was driving without insurance, license or both. Speeding was involved. Distraction was involved. Carelessness was involved. It's the San Antonio way, guey!

Vanetta- Well I'm assuming Susanlm74 is griping and complaining about how SAPD diverted traffic because this person is an expert on traffic diversion during emergency situations. Yeah- how dare those people get into an accident and get INJURED and how dare SAPD protect the injured and other motorists because people out there lost out on money when they can just suck it up and stay late if the money is THAT much of an issue.

At susanlm74- Instead of hoping every one is ok, lets complain about how people do their job. If you ever get into an accident hopefully the cops will be busy doing something that you may feel is appropriate so traffic can run up on you while your trapped in your vehicle.

I can not believe how SAPD diverted the traffic so far back from the accident. All of the traffic was diverted to the shoulder while police are trying to drive on the shoulder. Over an hour of sitting on the freeway when all lanes of 90 are blocked. Nice to know that it took that many police to stand around doing nothing and making all of us lose money by not being able to get to work even close to on time. Please learn how to divert traffic SAPD. It doesn't need to be a mile away from the accident.

What caused the accident? It couldn't be the rain! It wasn't raining this morning. Hope every one is okay.
