22-year-old killed when motorcycle slams into utility truck

I have 25 or so years on two wheels and more hairy stories than I care to remember. It takes a long, long time to become a medicore motorcyclist. I understand what it's like once you discover the joys of motorcycling. It's something that never fully leaves you. Whatever the circumstances here, my deepest sympathies to all his family and friends. May fond memories of him aid all of you in your grief.

Look it up.---------::Sigh:: First of all, smarty pants, TEXAS does not use the term -INVOLUNTARY- in it's Chapter 19 criminal homicide statutes because, INVOLUNTARY-homicide/murder does NOT meet the basic culpability requirements of CRIME, unless you are in a LIBTARD state or country that claims to be able to READ YOUR MIND. Texas, requires you to VOLUNTARILY commit a crime. What world would we live in if you could commit a crime without VOLUNTARILY doing it?! Look it up yourself, under the Texas criminal homicide statutes. The CRIMINAL NEGLIGENT statutes are in place, however, as I already FACTUALLY stated, this does not apply in this case because, "TURNING LEFT" is not a criminally negligent act, further than a class-C citation, in of itself. There must be OTHER FACTORS which would make it a criminal-negligence case. I'm not going to cut and paste the law in this thread. If you want to educate yourself on the criminal statutes of Texas, do it yourself. After you are done reading chapter 19, go read chapter 6 for CULPABILITY, then come back in here and post that you were WRONG.

And For the people who up voted his comment he is wrong. He had no intent to kill but he did and yes it was negligence on the truck drivers part. When it happens to you tx2654 you will see where everyone is coming from. @peaceout2012 sorry for your loss, its best you stay away from comments and grieve. These people are taking your cousins side and you criticize them? You are obviously not reading clearly. No one is saying anything bad. if these are not correct facts by the news this article would be taken down.

People, get a grip. You cant charge people with a crime for driving down the road in a vehicle! The truck driver did commit a traffic violation by failing to yield while turning left, however their is no other culpability involved here, on it's face value. Nobody is going to prove the truck driver intended to kill a motorcyclist. Geezes people, not everything has criminal intent, or has criminal negligence. It's a tragic event, but that's where it ends. Peaceout2012, condolences to you and your family but as a motorcyclist myself, this is a risk we take by riding motorcycles. You will lose, in a collision. What I don't understand is our societies thirst to charge people with criminal homicide where it does not apply.

The young man on the motorcycle was my cousin; please have respect and refrain from commenting; no one reading here knows the facts. You aren't family, you only "know" what you are reading and hearing through the news media.

I don't understand how he is not being held accountable for turning in front of this motorcycle rider. There will most likely be no charges filed, maybe a fine for causing the accident, but where are the Involuntary Manslaughter charges- you killed someone. Maybe if he were drinking we could get charges, but the rider is still just as dead. What's the difference? You were operating a vehicle, and you killed someone. Hold this man accountable.

I wonder if the cyclist was the typical speed demon or if the dump truck was the typical guy who just simply could care less about paying attention to OTHERS ON THE ROAD. I almost got into an accident today because some jackasse person with handicap plates in a red mazda decided they were going to cut over into my lane before they had even passed up my right front wheel. WATCHALE where you're going folks. That's fine if you disregard your own life, but I value mine and the lives of my passengers as well as other motorists wellbeing.

Cause he was riding a motorcycle and probably not related to anybody in office or SAPD. Poor guy. RIP. I ride too so I know this can easily happen to me.

How are charges not pending????
