SAN ANTONIO -- Police are searching for a killer after a teenager was shot to death in a Northwest Side neighborhood near UTSA Tuesday night.

Police were called to a home off Allendale Oak, near UTSA, around 11:00 p.m. Tuesday. Witnesses said they heard a man screaming that his car was being stolen. The victim, 18-year-old Christopher Hinojos, was then found dead in front of the home with multiple gun shot wounds.

Christopher's parents spoke with News 4 WOAI's Jozannah Quintanilla. His mother Rachel Enriquez said it was not like her son to not call, text, or come home. The last text she received from him said he was leaving work at the Staples at the RIM. That was around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. At 3:00 a.m. Wednesday, police came to her door to tell her something had happened to her son.

San Antonio Police Chief Bill McManus answered questions about the shooting during a news conference Wednesday afternoon.

"There was a fight between two individuals and at some point during that fight one of them pulled a gun out and shot the other," McManus said. "The other went to a resident's house for help and the shooter came back and shot him again multiple times killing him on the scene."

Rachel Enriquez is hoping someone will come forward with information about her son's killer. She wants the person caught before anyone gets hurt and another family is left devastated.

”Don’t let somebody get away with taking away a life. A life is so valuable but not to the person who took it,” Enriquez said.”

Police searching for Christopher's stolen Camry

Police are looking for a gray 2001 Toyota Camry with Texas license place BZ4-G811, which was taken from the victim.

Investigators believe Christopher and the suspect may have known each other.

If you have any information about this shooting/carjacking, please immediately call homicide detectives at 207-7635 or contact Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP (7867), submit a tip online, or text a tip by texting "Tip 127 plus your tip" to CRIMES (274637).

Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward if the information given leads to an arrest or grand jury indictment of a felony offender.

This story makes me angry. Not only does someone steal a car from this kid, they shoot him over it, and then when he goes to get help, the guy comes back and finishes him off. That is not cool, Pond Scum. I'm sure you think that you won't get caught, but that's what they all think. When they do catch you, then what?

Once again the victim was following the gun laws while the killer was not. I suggust "the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun".

I'm sure that POS killer had that gun registered to himself like all other criminals. Is that why we need more gun laws so pieces of crap like that won't go around killing innocent people? That idiot governor from New York would love to imagine so.

my Senior tells me he knows this kid. They played b-ball at the local courts. Which also means if the victim knew his killer there's a chance my son knows him. we're on lockdown in this haus bros! I'd suggest anyone else in 78249 do the same until they catch this POS.

Phrilly, you're wasting time going to each article in search of the spammers. At the bottom of the page you'll find "your comments". Click on that and it will take you to recent comments made on all stories, in decending order of when they were made. You'll find all the spam there easily lined up to report, which is what I do. That being said, go to the top right of the page and use the Feedback feature and send WOAI a message expressing your anger/outrage/disgust/whatever with the spammers and ask why they can't get it under control. If you give them your name and email, they'll actually answer you, too.

bigralphsmith, I certainly hope Staples does not hire you. They have nice people working there and you would not fit in. How can a human being possibly even think of what you posted?
