yah...it's really sad when you depend on quantity, not quality...sadly, the youth of today is what is shaping our Military...you wonder why many of them end up in situations like this. just leaves ugly marks on the organization as a whole

This information was given to me by a fellow recruiter

Ruger1 you are right. But when your boss is yelling at you for numbers not quality you have to give them what they want. My career was threatened on a daily basis saying that you will be kicked out of the military and in this case the flight chief covered some of this up last year. Honestly upper management should also be in trail.

lead by example, i guess is what i'm trying to say. why recruit losers that can't hold a conversation without being vulgar or inappropriate? could be just the beginning of issues such as this guy who felt for some reason it was ok to do what he did.

interesting point, AF Ric...but you bring up an interesting point. If you have to use inappropriate language and such to recruit, maybe you are recruiting the wrong individuals to your organization. Just an observation

It's really sad reading all the comments. I personally new Sgt Rodriuguez and he was a great guy. Did he have sex with the girls I don't know. But the news is making it sound like he raped 18 girls is just stupid. If he did have relationships with applicants yes he should be punished for that. But making him sound like a serial rapist is just ridiculous. He was a great father to his children. We all make mistakes but I can guarantee he did not force anyone of those girls to do anything they didn't want to do. I was an Air Force Recruiter and those girls are not innocent in the matter but as a recruiter you have to know the line that can not be crossed. We as recruiters work hard and spend hours in are office. We are sales people we recruit young men and women so when talking to a male applicant we might use inapropriate language to relate to the young men and women its sad but that's really what these kids talk about and are job is to make the trust us and secure them a spot.

LindaB - While I agree with you that there are terrible things that SOME of the men have done, this should not reflect on all of the men involved. Remember that most of these incidents were consensual. Now this does not mean that it makes it right since it is an abuse of power but it would not justify removing their genitals removed. If you still believe so, then what is your opinion on the female teachers or other cougars who commit these same crimes? Should they have their genitals removed as well?

being a Drill Sergeant from 03-07...i can say, i saw lot of young DS coming in and doing some realy stupid things...i believe there should be an age criteria...immature and inexperienced men should not have the power of the HAT!!!
