Okay, so you've gone through the whole aquarium routine and have it down pat. If you feel you're ready for the big time, a saltwater tank will give you a whole new set of challenges. The first step is to buy or check out a book on saltwater fish care. People who are willing to spend the time and energy to set up and maintain a saltwater tank should also be ready to learn a lot about salinity, pH levels, nitrate and nitrite testing, filtration, and a host of other topics. And that's even before adding any fish! Do you want a fish only or a reef system? How about lighting? If you're fully committed to learning about all these topics, you probably have what it takes to make part of your living room into a miniature underwater paradise. A properly maintained saltwater tank, filled with beautiful and exotic fish swimming happily around, can make all that effort worthwhile.
