Benefits if completely off work

Most state workers' compensation laws provide for important benefits including medical expenses, disability payments, and in some cases, vocation rehabilitation costs. If you are completely off work and under the care of an authorized doctor, you may be entitled to receive income benefits up to a maximum weekly amount. The income benefits are sometimes known as temporary total disability payments. These benefits are payable for the time that you are completely unable to work due to a work-related accident. State laws typically limit the amount of benefits to be paid to an injured employee, not only by setting a maximum weekly amount, but also by limiting the number of weeks the benefits are to be paid. Be sure that you understand the benefits to which injured employees are entitled under the law of the state where you are employed. For more information on workers' compensation benefits, contact a qualified attorney.
