The San Antonio Living Concept Homes are really coming together. For the last several months we have watched as two prestigious builders worked to construct a pair fabulous houses from the ground to the roof. We have shown you every step of the way.
Beginning at the end of next month, you'll get to see them yourself - in person. We'll open up the Ash and the Texas Design homes for all to see. It’ll be kind of like our own San Antonio Living Petite Parade of Homes. The money raised will go to charity! We'll give you more details in coming weeks.
Right now we have more exciting progress to show you. It's something you walk all over, but it can really set the tone for a room. It's fine flooring, and we looked to the experts at CRT Flooring Concepts to give the Texas Design home an extraordinary look.
“We are really excited to be part of this project,” Theresa Heitmeier from CRT Flooring Concepts told San Antonio Living. “We really wanted to showcase what it is we do for the community, and to let everybody know who we are. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase who we are and our products.”
CRT Flooring is a family-owned company that has been providing fine flooring for decades.
“For the Texas Design Home most of the floors are going to be a rustic hand-scraped wood, and the reason we chose this is because it really flows with that German Old World style of the Texas Design Home without competing with it,” explained Theresa.
Exciting plans in the works for our San Antonio Living Concept Home - ones that reflect today's lifestyle - great for active families.
“Today's customer really wants a maintenance free and care free product,” says Theresa. “A simple dust mop and a wood floor cleaner make this floor very easy to care for. It's offered in five different finishes and also three different species and installs for 30-40 percent less than other hand scrapped products on the market.”
No waxing or stripping is required. You will also see tile in the utility room and a special tile that looks like stone in the office.
Another trend emerging in South Texas combines the beauty of nature without the upkeep.
“Now what we're seeing is a tremendous increase in customers wanting hard surface throughout the home - not just kitchen and bathrooms,” says Theresa. “Our porcelain tile is impervious to moisture and makes it perfect to install anywhere in the home indoors or out.”
Inside CRT's brand new stunning showroom you will find everything for your flooring needs from natural stone to carpet to laminate to tile and many varieties of rugs.
“Our Shaw rugs offer style contemporary to traditional to transitional,” says Theresa. “We also offer rugs in seisel, jute, bamboo and cotton.”
If you need help creating the right flooring for a home to be built or remodeled, CRT has that covered, too. They have specialized computer software that takes your tastes and creates the look you want.
“Sometimes its hard for people to visualize what the flooring will look like in their home, so we take their plan and lay the tile pattern out for them – so it looks like it will in their home,” explains Theresa.
