|Arm and leg pain
Arm and leg pain can be caused by many different conditions. If you experience sudden numbness in your arms or legs, especially if the numbness is on one side, you should have a medical exam immediately to rule out the possibility of a stroke.
Bursitis (ber-SYE-tis) is the inflammation of the bursa, which are fluid-filled cavities in the joints where tendons and muscles pass over bone. The bursa help reduce friction between moving parts, but their inflammation can cause pain and limit movement.
|Carpal tunnel syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome refers to a condition in which the median nerve in the wrist is compressed. The pressure on the nerve can cause painful and debilitating problems if left untreated.
Numbness and tingling in the limbs can indicate a serious medical condition such as a stroke, so if these symptoms suddenly develop, you should have a medical exam immediately.
