Smaller Electric Bills Coming to San Antonians, Thanks to Surplus

Just in time for the holidays, San Antonio customers of CPS Energy can expect a smaller electric bill in December, thanks to millions of dollars in surplus revenue from the utility. Officials with CPS say the company will distribute 42-and-a-half million dollars in direct rebates through customers' December bills. The action follows discussions with the city council about how to spend a total of 75-million dollars in surplus CPS Energy revenue. The high electric bills customers paid during this summer's heat wave led to the surplus. The average CPS Energy customer will see approximately 29-dollars in credit on their December bills.
