The Doobie Brothers came together in the early 1970's and established a fan base with a wide variety of music tastes. The group has had solid support for their songs that range in style from the bluesy rock sound of “Long Train Runnin” to a country style of “Black Water” and a gospel/Jazz style of “Takin it to the Streets.”
The group has won several Grammy awards as well as Gold, Platinum, and Multi-Platinum Albums during their music career. They also made several TV appearances on Dick Clarks's “American Bandstand” and on “Solid Gold.”
There are eight members of the group including original band member Guy Allison who is lead singer, guitarist, keyboards and harmonica. Other longtime band members include Marc Russo and Tom Johnston as well as Michael Hossack, John McFee, Pat Simmons, Skylark, and Ed Toth.
Some of the other hits from the group include, Minute by Minute, Listen to the Music, China Grove and Jesus is Just Alright.
