SAN ANTONIO - The Doobie Brothers bring their American rock legacy to the Majestic Theatre on Sunday, March 25 at 7pm. Tickets go on sale Thursday, December 15 at 10am.

The Doobie Brothers are one of the great American music stories.  Since their story began in the 1970s, the band has released 13 studio albums, celebrated numerous gold and platinum albums and chart toppers like "Long Train Runnin’," "Black Water," and "China Grove.

Aside from a few years of inactivity in the mid-eighties, the Doobie Brothers have continued to perform, create and record for over 21 consecutive years. “The Doobies have always been about playing live,” Tom Johnston says. “We’re not a studio hot house group and we’re not a concept album band. We’ve always just brought in the tunes we had, put them together and made an album. That’s the way it’s been from the very first album and that’s still the way it’s being done.”

In 2010, the Doobie Brothers released their first album in 10 years, World Gone Crazy, on HOR Records. World Gone Crazy is another chapter in their music story, but it’s neither comeback nor nostalgia. An exhibition of aggressive and emotional performances, evocative storytelling, unapologetic attitude and world class musicianship, the collection is its own justification.

With the singing/songwriting/guitar playing team of Pat Simmons and Tom Johnston and three decade members John McFee (guitar/pedal steel/fiddle and mandolin) and Michael Hossack (drums and percussion) charging forward, the Doobies continue to exude the vitality and creativity that made the group superstars that have sold 40 million albums worldwide.

JamBase calls World Gone Crazy “one of the strongest installments in a catalogue that stretches 13 studio albums deep [and] a fine mixture of familiar Doobies textures [that is] also unmistakably the sound of the band moving forward, trying fresh things, stretching themselves.”

Tickets ($45 - $75) will be available at all Ticketmaster outlets, including the Majestic Theatre Box Office, online at www.ticketmaster.com, or charge by phone at 800.745.3000. All tickets subject to applicable service charges and fees. This concert is part of the Bud Light Concert Series at the Majestic Theatre.

Oh Dodie Lee - too bad some decent individual didn't call the cops on you. Child abuse is child abuse and what you did was not Christian. I'm sure she really learned her lesson. I wonder what kind of adult she became. You must be a 7 Day Adventist or some oddball religion. You always spout off things no one else wants to hear. I bet you were one of the idiots that swore rock and roll was the act of the devil. Get a life and keep your opinions to yourself.

I can't believe these brothers are still singing after all these years. I remember whipping my oldest daughter with a switch for having one of their records in our Christian house. I made her take that record and some movie star magazine that I caught her reading out to the trash barrel, pour gasoline on them, and burn them up. She still has a scar on her hand for not turning loose of the match fast enough when she lit the gasoline. That was a long, long time ago. These brothers must be as old as Methuselah by now. I'm sure their songs are just as ugly and vulgar as they were back then.
