SAN ANTONIO - This weekend (June25-27) is the Great American Backyard Campout Weekend. The event is designed to get children and parents out of the house and outdoors without technology. Mommy blogger from SA Busy Kids, Debbie Pfitzenmaier, gave us some encouragement and reminders for the camping weekend. Click here to watch…
Pfitzenmaier says it's important to know how to get your tent up. This may seem simple, but sometimes tents can be difficult to assemble. There are several things she said you want to make sure you have for the camping weekend:
- Waterproof plastic bin to put everything in
- Clothes
- Snacks for the evenings
- Hats and bandanas to cover your head from the heat of the day
- Bring a jacket for the kids as they tend to get colder at night
This nationwide campout was started a couple years ago to encourage people to get outdoors and away from technology for a bit. This is a great opportunity for the family to really spend quality time together and enjoy the outdoors.
