When you’re sick and heading to the doctor you may not be the best mannered patient. Just because you’re sick doesn't mean everyone has to move out of your way. There are still rules to follow. Etiquette expert Diane Gottsman breaks down the doctor’s office do's and don'ts. Click here to watch…

1. Wait your turn. Don't try and get in front of another patient because you "have an important meeting."

2. Be prepared. Have a list of your or your child’s meds with dosages.

3. Keep your child in the "sick" child side of the waiting room.

4. Clean up your mess. (tissues, Cheetos and goldfish crumbs)

5. Talk softly. Other patients do not want to hear your conversations.

6. Don't take the magazines or let your child scribble in them.

7. Don't bring "picnic lunches" -- and nothing with nuts.

8. Be on time for appointment!

7. Don’t bring an extra sibling and try and get him in on his sister’s appointment.

8. Use the lobby hand sanitizer.

9. Turn your cell on vibrate.

10. Don't go back to school/work until you are fever free.

Be On Time For Appointment should be #1! It's always my luck that the walk-ins get to be seen before me, and I'm the one who is smart enough to make an appointment! Damn you Flu Season!

Most importantly remember YOU are the customer and the reason the Dr. can pay his/her staff and if they're rude FIRE them, and find a better Dr. and staff, they are not doing you a favor they are doing what you PAY them to do, don't take any lip from the lazy receptionist/flunkie wannabe office manager who can barelt type or add.
