SAN ANTONIO - You house overheats during the summer just like you do. Decorating journalist Priscilla Kohutek visited San Antonio Living to give us some tips about “going bare” in your home this summer. Click here to watch...

Priscilla says you have to “undress” your house. It’s all about finding the ‘cool’ colors to decorate your home to make you feel more comfortable during the summer months.

“Looking cool makes you feel cool,” Priscilla explained.

Small changes can make all the difference in your living room, bedroom, and even in the kitchen. For example, Priscilla suggests finding light-colored slip covers for the couch and chairs. She suggests shopping at Calico Corners at 7322 Jones Maltsberger.

Taking down those winter drapes and leaving the blinds leaves your rooms with a bright, beachy feel.

Long tablecloths should only be used during the winter. Go for more of a bare look to “let your furniture breathe.”

Some changes can be simple. Swap out your ski trip photo on the mantle to a poolside print with a summertime frame.

Finally, our expert recommends keeping simple fresh flowers in your home as another great way to lighten your summer and add that delicate floral scent.

Uh Yeaaa!!! Swapping your "winter" ski photo for a "beach shot", surely that should bring your utility bills down.
