-Frosting a cupcake. We are more is more and we like to start out with a nice dollop of frosting. Show using an offset spatula to spread the frosting on top of the cupcake to make a mound.

-Use Ziplock bags for filling and piping! Invert the bag over your hand and fill like a glove. Or place in a tall glass to fill. Pull up the sides, burp out the air and seal the bag. Make a small snip from the corner and you are ready to pipe.

-Tinting sugars, sprinkles, coconut and marshmallows. We call this the sugar shake and we can show several examples of how to tint in a ziplock bag.

-Sugar edging and rolling: Once your cupcake is frosted you can edge or cover the top with colored sugars (as you would for the High Heel Shoe cupcakes). Tip and lightly press into the sugars.

-Cutting crisp cookies. Use a serrated knife, like a steak knife, to cut crisp cookies, like graham crackers or the Milanos for the heads of the Baa Baa Black Sheep.

-Rolling out candies to make shapes. It’s fun to change a soft candy like taffy or spice drop into another shape.  You can do this by rolling taffy out on wax paper or rolling out spice drops in sugars.  Then you’re ready to make shapes!
