SAN ANTONIO - Dominic is an energetic, 11-year-old boy who loves sports. Recently his life was put on hold because of a disease. Thanks to generous blood donors, he can now pick up where he left off and pursue his passion for basketball. Click here to watch his story…

Dominic has Kaposhi Hemangioendothelioma with Kasabach-Merritt Syndrome and Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation. His is the only known pediatric case in the world. To stay healthy, he has required several blood transfusions. Dominic has received over 30 transfusions in his lifetime.

Blood donations saved Dominic. He's grateful to all the donors who gave their blood so he could live. His mom, Karen Mazziotta, also thanks those who have donated.

“You are heroes and you are really the people who save lives,” Karen said.
