Dominic has Kaposhi Hemangioendothelioma with Kasabach-Merritt Syndrome and Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation. His is the only known pediatric case in the world. To stay healthy, he has required several blood transfusions. Dominic has received over 30 transfusions in his lifetime.

Blood donations saved Dominic. He's grateful to all the donors who gave their blood so he could live. His mom, Karen Mazziotta, also thanks those who have donated.

“You are heroes and you are really the people who save lives,” Karen said.

The young karate black belt is now looking toward his bright future -- all thanks to those who helped him. You can help people just like Dominic by donating your blood Friday at the 4 WOAI Holiday Heroes Blood Drive…
