Editor’s Note: This week’s blog entry is by Laurie Ellison (Bethany’s mom) and her husband Wes.
We are here visiting beautiful San Antonio from California to help our daughter with last minute wedding details. We flew in Wednesday and went straight over to see the Hotel Valencia. We had seen the Hotel online many times, so we felt as if we had been there before.
The courtyard is absolutely gorgeous. We took family pictures in front of the water fall. We can only imagine what it is going to look like on the big day!
I finally got to see Bethany in her wedding dress yesterday, and it made me cry. It looks beautiful on her and fits her perfectly. She is done with all the fittings now, thanks to Amber at Julian Gold. Amber also found the perfect bridesmaid dresses to match the earth-toned color scheme of the wedding.
Diana Boucher, the wedding consultant, came to the fitting as well so we could meet her. She gave us great ideas for groomsmen tuxedos to match, so we went right over and ordered all the tuxedos.
We also went to Versi Salon and everyone got their eyebrows waxed. While we were there, we scheduled all of our appointments to get our hair done for the wedding. Elena was so sweet and accommodating to work everyone in.
In between errands we get to spend time with the McKay family. We are all working together to get things accomplished. We are sending out the invitations today. Wes met Allison with You’ve Got Paper when we were picking up the invitations and commented on how nice and helpful she was.
Bethany’s new family and friends here are hosting a bridal shower for her, which we are very excited for. There are still a few more errands to run, and we only have three more weeks, so we are trying to get everything done while we are here.
We are so excited for Blake and Bethany. Their dreams are certainly coming true. We go back to California on Monday, and then we will be back in two weeks for the wedding!
