By Bethany Ellison, Wedding Experience BrideWell it’s that time again, and I have so much to share. Last Friday, Blake and I tasted each of the wonderful cake options, and every one of them was so beautiful, not to mention delicious. We are anxious to hear Shelly announce the winner Friday morning on SA Living (NOTE: The winner was from Mad About Cake.)
I also had the opportunity to try on my beautiful Vera Wang gown, and I definitely felt like a princess. It felt just like I dreamed it would. Amber with Julian Gold was so sweet, giving me suggestions on what to do about a veil and comfortable shoes for our wedding day. Once I get my shoes, I will have one final fitting.
Blake and I finally had the opportunity to meet with Diana Boucher, who you all selected as our wedding consultant. It was so wonderful to hear all the creative ideas she has for our big day. She has so many helpful tips to keep us on track for the next 43 days.
We also met with Allison, with You’ve Got Paper. We figured out the style for our invitations, place cards, and programs. We decided to go with an old world antique look that ties in perfectly with the theme that Diana has created for us.
Blake and I feel as though we really are getting to connect with all the vendors, to make this experience so special for us. Everyone at Hotel Valencia has been so wonderful to work with and we still cannot believe this gift that they have helped give us.
We are meeting with David Sixt, our photographer, tomorrow, and we are excited to see all of his wonderful work. Blake and I are looking forward to working with him as he has such a wonderful reputation here in San Antonio; we are honored to have him shoot our wedding.
I went to Versi Salon to set up appointments for facials, manicures, pedicures, you name it. I am looking forward to all of the pampering. The staff there is so sweet and accommodating. They even waxed my eyebrows, you should see them, they are perfect!
Next up is the floral arrangements. We are eager to decide on flowers to give us a better picture of what colors will be used in our wedding. The colors at Hotel Valencia are so rich and natural I can only imagine how beautifully the room will be enhanced with natural floral elements. Once we have settled on a color scheme, I can begin to look at bridesmaid dresses and such. So make sure to visit Saliving.com and vote for your favorite flower arrangement!
