SAN ANTONIO - A restaurant on the Southwest Side is in jeopardy of being shut down, and it has to do with a poor health inspection score. News 4 WOAI Trouble Shooter Mireya Villarreal is looking out for you and your health in this week's edition of Kitchen Cops. Click here to watch...

We visited Taco Express off Military Drive not far from Lackland Air Force Base. We wanted to know if the problems pointed out in their latest health inspection report have been fixed.

Workers at Taco Express weren't happy to see our cameras. The man who appeared to be in charge refused to give his name. He said neither the manager nor the owners were available to talk. When I asked about the inspection report, he claimed not to know what I was talking about.

Taco Express picked up 42 demerits on their latest health report. In addition to the roaches and ants, the inspector caught employees not washing their hands and found food at unsafe temperatures.

Pictures were taken of the restaurant and inspectors will be checking on their progress. If things don't get better, their license to do business could be pulled.

"Wow! I'm so excited,” said owner Giuseppe. “We've been waiting to get this!"

The manager told us elbow grease and determination helped them stay clean.

Congratulations to Sapore's Pizza!

If the place looks nasty and third worldish, then don't eat there; those places will close down because of lack of business. It's a bad thing when government goes around closing private businesses based on the subjective findings of government officials.

The city needs to shut down a hundred of these hole in the wall Mexican food restaurants. Personally I don't see how many even stay open as there are just too many of them.
