SAN ANTONIO - Homeowners in one Northeast Side neighborhood claim their HOA election was rigged.

Angry residents in the Ventura subdivision packed their annual homeowners meeting Tuesday night to kick out the board president, only to be told they would not be allowed to vote.

During the meeting, angry homeowners made it clear to HOA board president Lisa Pfeiffer they don't like the way she's running the association.

More than 200 tried to cram into the HOA office that only holds 45 for the annual meeting. Many showed up after watching our News 4 WOAI Trouble Shooters investigation Monday revealing Pfeiffer had spent more than $80,000 suing several homeowners and closed board meetings to all residents.

“We homeowners showed up in force thinking that's what we needed to do. But we didn't even have an opportunity to vote,” said Ventura homeowner Yvonne Rex.

Rex and several other HOA members say Pfeiffer pulled a fast one. The board president was up for re-election and according to the meeting notice she sent out, nominations for her board seat could be made at the meeting. But instead, Pfeiffer stunned the crowd by going back on her word and refusing to let homeowners nominate anyone else or even cast a vote.

Pfeiffer claimed she already had the necessary proxy votes needed to re-elected herself and a friend to the board. After she announced her re-election she closed the meeting.

“The president of the board already had her agenda, she did not allow any input. (She) was refusing to even listen to us,” said Rex.

The homeowners say they're not going to let this neighborhood bully get away with this. They plan on filing a lawsuit to block the results of Tuesday’s supposed election.

We will keep following this story and let you know what happens.

HOAs are all the same - A BAD RELIGION (non-profit corporations just like churches - only these are founded on wickedness by HOA lawyers in collusion with big developers). It's time to burn the CC&Rs and put a boot on the necks of the sick control freaks who run them. See www.hoasyndrome.com for new information on the sickness where bullies relentlessly harass people 'till they commit suicide (or move- churn is good for the realtors so they look the other way). Do homeowners really want these developer-created "governments" coming down on them for petty "crimes"? This question should be MANDATORY and asked by secret ballot vote for every Mandatory HOA and pass with 75% approval before they are permitted to "do business" ever again. I call this "THE HOA DEATH PENALTY" and it's time the legislature do 'em in by setting 10 year terms on these "contracts homebuyers agreed to when the bought a house". We didn't agree to surrender constitutional rights for sticks and they violate the rule against perpetuities. 10 years is a long time and for all HOAs older than 10 years, it's time to burn the CC&Rs. Can we get a judge to issue a restraining order prohibiting Mandatory Associations from foreclosing or suing people until they can prove they pass this simple test (75% is the threshold in Prop Code 201- precedent is there). CC&Rs should be demoted to "forced religions" and the courts should dismiss all claims made by Mandatory Associations Foreclosing in America (the acronym fits). Burn these evil documents and let's cleanse our land of this plague of hatefulness wrought by evil men like William Gammon (he wrote most of the TX property code, and goes on trial for vulgar child porn on Jan 11, 2011). Burn the cc&rs to find the hoasyndrome cure.

NARDOCCIO - 10/30/2010 7:36 PM 1 Vote Report User I have few things to add to the previous message. The HOA President in question sued 8 homeowners because they were going to vote her out the "office". She sued them using the Association funds (So far more than $90,000, maybe 100,000). Thanks to her frivolous law suit some of those homeowners had to take a second mortgage on their homes to pay their attorney's fees. The President in question did not care about the burden she caused to those 8 people. Also she started two (2) more personal law suits against other homeowners using the same attorney who sued those 8 individuals. I am wondering whose $$ she use to pay that attorney for her personal 2 law suits. Also I am questioning if having the same attorney representing her on personal law suits and Association suit is legal or ethical . -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

findthetruth, if you are any example of the behavior of the people who live in this community then I completely understand the chaos. And how dare you mention Burger King along with your whacko neighbors and neighborhood. I might never be able to look at another Whopper.

From what I understand, the meeting is at the Woodlake school. There were signs up all over the neighborhood this morning, but someone took them down.

My inside source says there's a meeting tomorrow night at 7 at Woodlake to "deal" with this issue! (I don't know if it means the school/community center/or golf course) There's signs at all the entrances, unless someone opposed goes around and takes them all down. Wonder if the Bexar County Sheriff's Department will be called out to break up THIS meeting by Lisa! (You know, as an "illegal" meeting of the HOA membership against her bylaws....) Bring your video cameras just in case!

Oh BTW, if this recall actually is sucessful, then it is a rare thing. Ms.Pfeiffer, like all tyrants, knows that this is the way to run one of these HOAs, with an iron fist! The association lawyers and association managers will back her up 100%.
