For crying out loud do they need a written policy to fire a City Employee for giving away favors that do not belong to him. In my book, that is Stealing from your Employer be it the City or anyone else.

It seems like senior management should not need a written policy to know that using publicly owned suites, snacks etc for private use in NOT appropriate. Is there a written policy all inappropriate behavior? Probably not. I am dissappointed. I would like to be informed the next time there is an empty suite so I can go use it with my family. We paid taxes for the Alamodome. I feel like my family should enjoy what those employees did.

Seems to me like WOAI just needed a story. This is how entertainment business works. If you don't have something to give you don't get the partnership. Maybe San Antonio, and Ms.Villareal should appreciate the business partnerships that are being made with very profitable companies that ultimately could lead to lucrative accounts, donations, and business for the city and it's beloved alamodome in the future. If we don't help them out they won't help us out, that's life, and more importantly business. I'm pretty sure the companies that were involved in these "back-door" arrangements make a lot of money for the city of San Antonio and as a member of the community I'd rather them enjoy a luxury suite for a night versus lose the money, and more importantly jobs they bring to the city. You tell me what's better the money we make from one night in a luxury suite or the large quantity of jobs and money these companies provide our city?

Sounds like Mr. Digiovanni fell asleep at the wheel. He had oversight and trying to discount this as an isolated incident. Maybe looking into his department is next. I guess it's time to email Mayor Castro.

HEY ALL, THE CITY OF SAN ANTONIO HAS NOT RAISED TAXES IN OVER 16 YEARS, But if you live in Bexar County like most of us your property taxes have increased but that is from the county commissioners and they have been increaseing the taxes every year to do what they want. SO GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE BLAMING SOME ONE IN THE CITY GOVERNMENT!!!

It should not have been difficult for those involved to have known that their actions presented an appearance of not being right. Even if policy covering these situations did not exist at the time, their inability to avoid these potential gray areas is reason enough for them to no longer be in those trusted positions.

Just saw a story on KSAT of several Eagle Pass City workers were busted using Fuelman credit cards to benefit themselves. Too bad they didn't work at the Alamodome. They could then say there was no policy prohibiting their personal use of the credit cards. Headlines: "Get a free pass at the SA Alamodome. No common and ethical policy in place."

Hey guys, "Sculley" says "NO" tax increase foreseen for San Antonio citizens. Can you believe that? WOW, she's raising fees left and right and sticking it to retired city employees but yet has the audacity to say she isn't raising taxes. Please vote NO on Pre K Tax increase!!! What a joke ...

This is a form of embezzlement which IS illegal and he should be fired for that which is against the law. How can he keep his job if he is convicted of abusing his position for personal financial gain at the financial cost to the city from lost revenue? Focus on HOW to get rid of him through legal means instead of simply allowing them to protect their own. Our city Manager is all about bringing her friends in to run things and paying them exorbitant salaries while keeping them fixed on reducing city services. Example (without regard to whether I agree or not). They reduced trash pickup to once a week but split the recycling to a second day. They still "say" it is twice a week, since a truck stops by on two different days but tell me - how many days can you put out your trash out to be picked up? Many more example....

City Manager Sculley should be fired immediately for not having a policy in place to prohibit theft, corruption, misappropriation of property. I'll bet the city Employee Policy Manual in place has this violation covered, however, the people involved is much greater that the four identified so everything turns into 'the cover up' mode. The city manager needs to be on record saying there is 'No Policy in place for this behavior.
