Family members angered by plea deal that drops one murder charge

It was a brutal attack, a stabbing that left two people dead. So why was the killer given a plea deal charging him with only one murder, and making him eligible for parole in 30 years? Jaie Avila was in court for the sentencing hearing that left some family members furious.

His smiling and winking at the camera gives one a sense that he too thinks it was a great deal...He killed someone, no matter that they were scum. He should have been giving the death sentence. What's the matter with the people they choose for jury duty?

The public still wins as he's behind bars. Hopefully prison justice will take care of any possibility for parole.

the way I sees it, if in fact the two that are dead was part of any mafia or gang, then we now have THREE worthless pieces of chit off the streets.

Blame the DEMOCRAT controlled Bexar County Judicial system! Plain and VERY simple. CUT deals with KILLERS. You don't see your new found HERO JULIAN CASTRO coming out, demanding proper justice in criminal cases in Bexar County Do you? And, now he wants to be a governor? HA!
