Thanks city council...you are the best defenders of the common people in San Antonio. Please now explain what are the expenses of a tow truck in a towing call, so we understand why you more than doubled the fees. Yes, I know. There's no logical explanation, other than you guys are not able to protect the people who voted for you. Why don't you guys start a program to open parking spaces for the public downtown and other busy areas? Ah, yes, I understand. Then there's no bu$ine$$. You should change your name from city council to corporate interest council. In this time of tight belts, you prefer to help the powerful at the citizen's expense. Way to go!

More money for the city to collect and then waste it on stupid spending. Next you'll be reading the new bonuses paid out. They are just taking care of themselves before this recession turns into double-dip recession.

How SHOCKING that the San Antonio Council would vote to raise a fee, that I'm sure they get a slice of in the end. Yes, how shocking.

I may be in the minority here but I say good for them. Think about how this kind of business (towing) makes its money...from TOWING cars! They're not going to TOW my truck from driveway, nor will they tow your car from the church parking lot (maybe if it's in a handicapped spot without a decal). Nope. They're going to tow away illegally parked cars, those with outstanding tickets or warrants and of course those d bags who park in handicapped spots at grocery, department and convenient store to "run in real quick". THOSE people deserve to get towed. Same with those who park in somebody's assigned parking at apartment complexes.

good for them I am sure the council needs that extra 77 dollars per tow in their pockets.
