With a full roster when the team is healthy, the San Antonio Spurs can't promise players on the bench huge minutes on a nightly basis.

With main rotational players taking up most of the 48 minutes in an NBA game, rust and players not developing would be a huge problem if they'd be needed to step up during a major injury.

With some faces expected to be returning soon from injury, Spurs fans shouldn't be surprised at younger and newer Spurs spending some time with the Austin Toros to keep fresh and help their game develop as head coach Gregg Popovich explained.

"That's what we've been doing. Those young kids need minutes and they'll learn more by playing than sitting on the bench."
