SAN ANTONIO - Al Jefferson is in the last year of his contract, so the Utah Jazz may be looking for some trade value from a player they may not be able to keep. According to
Chris Sheridan of SheridanHoops.com, the Spurs are in the lead to land Jefferson.
“The San Antonio Spurs are the front-runners to land Al Jefferson in a trade with the Utah Jazz – and they are frontrunners like Secretariat was in the 1973 Belmont Stakes,” wrote Sheridan.
So the big question is – who will the Spurs give up? Tiago Splitter? Stephen Jackson? Patty Mills? And if the Spurs do trade for Jefferson, will they be able to resign him in the summer?
Our panel of ProjectSpurs.com writers debate the point in this week’s Spurs RoundTable.
