As soon as Tony Parker was drafted in 2001 by the San Antonio Spurs and appeared onstage with David Stern, two things were likely apparent to most immediately. The Spurs likely had to do some major overseas scouting to pluck this kid from Paris Basket Racing in France, and, during an event known for it's terrible style choices, bad color combos and whatever you call what Karl Malone wore, Parker was the exception.

The next day, ESPN named him "Best Dressed" of the draft and people were beginning to take notice of this under-the-radar commodity. It was evident then as it is now that Parker has about the same chance of appearing in Sports Illustrated as he does of appearing in People, or even Maxim recently.

And for Parker, basketball and fashion are his comfort zones thanks to his parents. We all know about Tony Sr. and his basketball background, but Parker admits his mother, Pamela Firestone, a former model, influenced his style.
