SAN ANTONIO - Remember when we all thought, “Boy, the Spurs are getting old.”
Have you checked the roster lately? Nine of the 13 players are under age 30. Five are under 25. Heck, rookies Kawhi Leonard and Cory Joseph were born in the 90s! And the young guns can play. Leonard, Tiago Splitter and James Anderson all played key roles off the bench in the win over Memphis. It’s something the Spurs will count on all season.
Of course, old guys can ball too. 34-year-old Manu Ginobili stole the show with his behind the back pass to Leonard in the second half.
Now we know why Manu played so well Monday night. His two boys were there! The Ginobili Twins were part of the opening night crowd. Manu
posted a picture of his boys on Twitter Tuesday.
In the words of Dante and Nicola, “Way to go papa!”
Chris Paul and the Clippers are next -- the team everybody in the NBA is talking about is here tonight for a 7:30 tip off.
