SAN ANTONIO - Spurs rookie DeJuan Blair had x-rays Saturday morning on an injured tailbone. Blair hurt himself going for rebound Friday night against Indiana.

As a precaution, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich benched Blair for the remainder of the game after the injuring. Before Blair went down he scored nine points, grabbed six rebounds and logged three steals in just under 16 minutes.

The good news: the x-rays came back negative. A team official told News 4 WOAI that Blair could miss a practice or two, but the guy nicknamed "The Beast" should be fine for opening night.

And opening night is right around the corner. The Spurs start their “Drive for Five” Wednesday night at home against the New Orleans Hornets. Tipoff is at 7 pm at the AT&T Center.
