ESPN.com is reporting the San Antonio Spurs have agreed to release former All-Star guard Michael Finley later Monday to allow Finley to pursue opportunities with other teams, according to sources close to the situation.

Finley was a key member of San Antonio's 2007 championship team after leaving the Spurs' longtime rivals in Dallas but has struggled to earn playing time this season from coach Gregg Popovich.

As long as the Spurs waive the 36-year-old before midnight Monday, Finley will be eligible to play in the playoffs for another team.

How funny would it be if Cuban re-signed Finley to play again in Dallas? Oh, and dltyler - I by no means am a member of the Grammar Police, but Lord, how about proofreading before posting? Holy hell, man! You may not live for sports of any kind, but I guess you don't live for spelling of any kind, either.

dltyler; if you don't like sports, then why are you commenting on a sports story. Because what you wrote makes you look ignorant!

Its about time to release them all and start over, there all too old and hurt all the time. Go home and play around and get hurt, come back here and cam't play. Who is running the team?? If I pay a player 2,000,000/ or more a year, he had better not knick hisself shaving if it keeps him out of the game...Finley is good , but so was Bowan and all the rest.....Glad I do not live for sports of anykind, all players make too much money....dlt
