UPDATE: According to French site LeJournal.com, Denmon has broken his fifth metatarsal in his right foot. He will be out for six weeks and no surgery will be needed,

San Antonio Spurs 2012 NBA draftee guard Marcus Denmon, has injured his foot in the season opener for French team Chalon-Elan against Tony Parker's team ASVEL (via Basket News.net). Denmon injured his foot in the third quarter after scoring nine points in 22 minutes for Chalon.

Chalon head coach Gregor Beugnot spoke on Denmon's injury and fears it is worse than expected.

"It is on the side of the foot on a metatarsal. I hope he has not broken his foot. He may have moved a metatarsal, or there is something. I hope there will be examinations fast."

Denmon led the team in scoring in the preseason averaging 16.7 points.

Project Spurs recently reported the Spurs were keeping a watchful eye on Denmon's growth and coach Beugnot spoke highly of his development.
