By Paul Garcia, Project Spurs.comOn Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reported that San Antonio Spurs Assistant General Manager Dennis Lindsey was being considered as one of three finalists to be hired as the next Orlando Magic General Manager.
Now one of Lindsey's coworkers, Danny Ferry, is also being recruited by an Eastern Conference team - the Philadelphia 76ers for their GM/President position according to Wojnarowski.
Danny Ferry, a front-office executive with the San Antonio Spurs, met with 76ers owners in Philadelphia over the weekend to discuss a president/general manager’s job, sources said. Ferry has emerged as the frontrunner for the position, but still hasn’t been sold that the possible job structure makes sense for him to depart a comfortable situation under Spurs GM RC Buford.
Collins has been a strong advocate for Ferry’s candidacy, sources said.
Ferry has a good track record of working alongside coaches as he displayed when he and Mike Brown were running the Cleveland Cavaliers organization when LeBron James of the Miami Heat was apart of the team.
