What's Manu Ginobili got in common with Letterman and Conan? For starters, he's back!

The Spurs were back in San Antonio working out Wednesday. They’re finally on their way back to full strength as the big three have all been in the lineup this week.

It's an important time to start playing well. Their next four games are at home. That’s the longest home stretch for the rest of the season. They’re going to want to take advantage of it. This could be a key stretch to get some wins, and hold off Dallas for the top spot in the division before the rodeo road trip starts at the end of the month.

The Spurs have seen their division lead cut to a half game. Do they notice? Are they concerned?

“We’re not concerned. We’re not in panic mode. We had a good lead – a three or four game lead. Then we got all those injuries,” Tony Parker Told News 4. “It was a nice lead, and now we’re just going to have to do it again.”

We just have to forget about that, keep improving, and play better basketball when we have to in April and May,” Manu told News 4.

So did you notice Manu's beard?

“I was trying to become a tough guy, but it’s not working,” Manu told News 4 with a smile Wednesday after practice.

Like Conan and Dave, he's let it go. So is he part of the whole writers strike thing?

“I got my show coming. You didn’t know that?” said Manu. “No, today’s the last day. I was just lazy. No other reason.”

Ginobili has been playing great despite wearing a big splint on his hand. He's hoping the splint comes off soon - maybe in time for Thursday’s game with Detroit.

“I’m fine shooting, but it’s hard dribbling and passing because I have something on my thumb,” Manu explained. “Overall, it’s not a big deal. It’s like an alien thing on my hand.”

After practice Wednesday Tony Parker was over at the Humane Society. He selected Mrs. Bodecker's 5th grade class at Wilderness Oak as the winner of his essay contest. The kids wrote a book on pet care, and so they got to hang out with Tony and check out all the animals.

Turns out that Tony is quite the animal lover.

“I got two St. Bernards and we used to have a bulldog, which just passed away two weeks ago. And I got two cats.”

When asked if he brought ant more pets home from the Humane Society today, Tony responded, “No. If I want to stay married, it’d be better that I don’t bring home any more animals. She [Eva Longoria] made that clear.”

He's only been married six months, and he's already got it. Smart man.

The Spurs have an early 7 pm national television tip time Thursday against the Pistons at the AT&T Center.
