Hall of Famer Drexler on Spurs’ Duncan: A polished professional

HOUSTON – NBA Hall of Famer Clyde “The Glide” Drexler has had his share of accomplishments over his career – 10 combined All-Star appearances with the Portland Trailblazers and Houston Rockets, and even an NBA championship in 1995 with the Rockets.

Three weeks ago after the Sprite Slam Dunk contest had concluded, I had the chance to speak with Drexler about another NBA player who has double-digit All-Star games under his belt and four NBA championships already, San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan.

Drexler had some positive words about Duncan and what he’s done for the game as a whole.

“The big fundamental has been tremendous as a statesman,” said Drexler of Duncan, “as a polished professional, and one of the best basketball players to ever play this game.”
